Adaptations

The following are potential adaptation strategies for coastal construction projects.

Please note that these adaptation strategies are recommendations and will vary by project, construction type, location and necessary permitting requirements. It is the constructor’s responsibility to ensure that all the necessary regulatory requirements are able to be met when considering using an adaptation strategy. DEP has provided some examples of projects that relate to the adaptation methods described. These are for informational purposes only and are not endorsements of the method or strategy used, the contractors used, the costs involved, or whether any particular strategy or method is permittable.
